I'm Dr. Dee Franklin, an expert therapist and consultant based in the city of Fort Lauderdale.

 

My mission is to create positive and lasting changes in the lives of my patients, and to help them become stronger, more stable and resilient individuals.

About Dr. Franklin

Dee Ross Franklin, Psy.D. LMHC, is an expert clinician in the treatment of anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and related conditions. This is a large umbrella of related problems, and regardless of which ones you’re dealing with, it’s important to know these are treatable problems. Effective, evidence-based therapies can help you break free from the cycle of fear, doubt, and compulsive behaviors. The wide range of issues that Dr. Franklin treats include:

  • General anxiety and panic disorder

  • Acute stress and trauma

  • Phobias

  • Feeding and eating challenges

  • Body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), such as teeth grinding, jaw clenching, skin picking, and nail biting

  • Olfactory reference syndrome (ORS)

  • Misophonia

  • Emetophobia

  • Body dysmorphia (BDD) and body image concerns

  • Health and illness anxiety

  • Pain disorder

  • Sensory aversions

Dr. Franklin’s approach combines evidence-based therapies to address both the behaviors and the underlying triggers, helping clients regain control, reduce distress, and improve daily functioning. She tailors treatment to each individual’s needs, supporting their emotion regulation challenges across the lifespan.

 

With a strong foundation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dr. Franklin is proudly BTTI trained through the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF). She is also a certified provider of several evidenced-based approaches including the Unified Protocol (U.P.), the UCLA PEERS Social Skills Training for Young Adults, Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma.

 

As a presenter and speaker, Dr. Franklin has had the opportunity to share her knowledge on various topics at conferences, professional colloquia, and podcasts, contributing to the broader field of mental health care. She created and co-authored numerous publications, innovative program designs, and staff clinical training initiatives. Dr. Franklin is a qualified supervisor for mental health counseling interns, and professional consultant and speaker, and is dedicated to advancing mental health care and continuous improvements to clinical practices.
